HOW TO TEACH HORSEMANSHIP USING OUR LESSON PLANS – IMPORTANT INFORMATION
Each lesson plan has 2 pages of information:
- A list of required equipment, including notes on setting the arena and pre-lesson preparation.
- A suggested breakdown of instructional content presented over the course of an hour. (Note that breaks for water or cinch checks are not written in; make sure to include these as needed!)
- Ideas for games and modifications when teaching private and group lessons.
- Additional thoughts and cautionary notes covering scenarios you may face during the course of the lesson.
We also have sets of equitation patterns, ground pole/jump courses, and obstacle courses suitable for each Level—all of which can be incorporated into one of these plans or taught separately.
